Student Midwifery

I'm a midwifery student working towards becoming a licensed midwife in Michigan. I currently work with 3-4 different midwives to provide services to women and their families throughout the state. When you work with me, I will ask a more seasoned midwife to work alongside me to ensure your safety and your baby's safety. Your due date and location will determine who I will ask to join me. Core Beliefs and Philosophy of Care
I believe all births should have one thing in common: women should feel empowered, autonomous, and supported no matter where or how they choose to give birth. I believe the mother and baby are one, going through this life experience together. I believe the way we are born can impact us for life, as well as future generations.

I believe every woman and her journey through the childbearing year is unique. I believe in seeing and serving each woman for the individual that she is; body, mind, and spirit. When these areas are cared for, a midwife is setting up a mother and her child to have the highest chance for a successful, non-invasive, empowering birth and healthy postpartum experience.

I believe pregnancy, labor, and birth are not only sacred, but natural physiological events in a woman's life. I believe in practicing a strong respect for a woman’s intuition over her own body and baby. Because of this belief, I believe in allowing birth to unfold as it's meant to, using a hands-off approach with minimal technological interventions unless it becomes wanted or medically necessary to do otherwise. I believe the human body is designed for pregnancy and birth. Birth is as safe as life gets and is meant to work when no one is there.
